The modernist houses of Passeig de Gràcia

On a single block of Passeig de Gràcia, two Gaudí houses and a few more by his contemporaries compete: the famous block of discord. They're admired free from the street; entering is another story and choosing matters.

Batlló or Pedrera

Batlló is the interior fantasy: bones, dragon and colored light. Pedrera is the craft: the rooftop of stone warriors and the spiral staircase. Enter one, by appetite: dream or architecture.

Seeing them at night

Both run night visits with the building lit and music: pricier and more magical. Batlló's illuminated facade is enjoyed free from the opposite sidewalk.

The whole block

Casa Amatller and Casa Mulleras complete the discord and are admired from the sidewalk without queues or tickets. Half an hour of craned neck on that corner is a free masterclass in modernisme.
